Labrador CMS is a Norwegian B2B SaaS company built by journalists and developers. The company delivers a cloud-based publishing platform for professional publishers and editorial teams.

The platform is used by around 10,000 journalists and 400 online newspapers in 21 countries, and handles around 4 billion page views every month. Labrador has around 37 employees and customers in Europe, Asia and the USA.

In just a few years, Labrador has developed from a Norwegian start-up into an international SaaS company with customers in 21 countries, and the growth continues.

Labrador is looking for a Chief of Staff who will help the company continue to grow internationally, with better internal flow and clearer follow-up.

The company has grown quickly. Much is working well. At the same time, growth has made day-to-day work more complex. There are more parallel priorities, more dependencies and a greater need for clear information flow. Further growth places greater demands on internal ways of working. Labrador needs a person who can build structure, follow up decisions and give the management team more capacity for customers, product and international growth.

This is a role for someone who gets things done. You understand people and processes, and are able to create better flow without making the organisation heavy. This is not a strategic staff role at a distance. Labrador needs an operational and independent Chief of Staff who sees what needs to be done, takes responsibility and builds solutions that can withstand further growth.

The role will evolve as the company grows. Therefore, we are looking for someone with the capacity and potential to grow with Labrador.

As Chief of Staff, you will report to the CEO and work closely with the executive team and key people across the company.

Areas of responsibility

As Chief of Staff, you will, among other things:

  • prepare for and follow up on management meetings, decisions, action points and deadlines

  • contribute to leadership development and support managers in implementing plans

  • coordinate recruitment from defining needs through to onboarding

  • further develop HR processes, administrative routines and support functions that can grow with Labrador

  • ensure good internal communication across departments, teams and countries

  • identify and resolve operational bottlenecks

  • use AI, automation and digital tools to reduce manual work

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a structured and proactive organisational development professional who gets things done through both people and systems. You have experience from roles where you have been responsible for coordination, follow-up and improvement across an organisation. You have worked closely with managers or leadership teams, and you understand how priorities must be translated into practical action.

LABRADOR CMS: Labrador CMS is strengthening the team for continued international growth with a new Chief of Staff in Oslo. Here are Emanuels, Eline and Bjørn Vidar from Labrador visiting Croatia’s largest media company, Hanza Media, which will go live on Labrador soon.

You do not need to have been a Chief of Staff before. The most important thing is that you have built structure, helped people collaborate better and ensured that plans are actually carried out.

We believe you will do well if you have experience in executive support, project management, organisational development, HR, recruitment or operations. Experience from an organisation undergoing growth or change is particularly relevant.

Experience from a media, product, technology or SaaS business is an advantage, but not a requirement. The most important thing is that you quickly understand how Labrador creates value for its customers, and that you can build effective ways of working in a fast-paced organisation.

This is an opportunity to shape how an international technology company organises itself in its next phase of growth.

Labrador CMS

Personally, you are structured, clear and good at following things up. You like creating an overview, but you are not bureaucratic. You are proactive and self-driven, but also good at building trust and bringing others with you. You are confident with people. You can give advice, ask good questions and address demanding topics in an orderly way. You thrive with unfinished processes and shifting priorities.

We offer

As Chief of Staff at Labrador, you will have a leadership role with a clear mandate and significant influence on how the company organises itself in its next phase of growth.

LABRADOR CMS: Labrador CMS delivers the publishing platform used by editorial teams in 21 countries.

You will join a technology company with international customers, a high pace of development and short decision-making processes. The role gives you the opportunity to work closely with both people and operations, and to make concrete improvements that are felt in everyday work.

This is an opportunity to shape how an international technology company organises itself in its next phase of growth.

The role is based in Oslo. The position requires physical presence and close interaction with the organisation, but Labrador offers flexibility in the working day.
