Labrador now names famous people in your photos
Labrador can now name well-known people in your photos. It's opt-in, and three more changes this month are all switched on yourself.

Hi, Labrador CMS users! Four improvements we wanted to mention in Labrador this month. All opt-in, switched on yourself — nothing changes in your workflow until you choose it.

Labrador can now name famous people in your photos
Live now, opt-in
Your captions and tags stay as they are until you turn this on. Turned on, Labrador AI checks faces in a photo against a public database of well-known figures — Wikipedia and IMDB-level fame — and suggests a name, plus who's left, right or in the middle if there's more than one. It only names someone when confident enough, and only people in that database — a face well known locally may not be one it knows. Nothing publishes without your review, same as any AI suggestion.
Editor action : Check Celebrity recognition in Admin → AI Setting → Image metadata (all the way in the bottom).
Journalist tip: Good on group shots — it sorts who's who by position, ready for the caption.

Readers can now open any photo in a fullscreen carousel
Live now, opt-in
Your article pages stay as they are until you turn this on. Turned on, a reader who clicks a freestanding image in an article sees every image in that article in a fullscreen carousel, with arrows, keyboard and swipe navigation and captions carried over. Works site-wide or per article, in a dark or light layout.
Editor action: Check the image carousel option in Admin → Gallery settings.
Journalist tip: When turned on, readers can flip through without leaving the page.

Readers can now mark your site as a preferred Google source
Live now, opt-in
Nothing changes in your existing share buttons until you add this one. Turned on, readers get a button that marks your title as a preferred source in Google Search — Google then shows your content with a "preferred" badge in Top Stories and AI Overviews for those readers.
Editor action: Add "Google preferred source" in Admin → Article settings → Social media sharing.

Author pages can now show a job title
Live now, opt-in
Existing author pages are unchanged until you turn this on. Turned on, it shows in the author box and in that page's search data for every author page on your site, not just one.
Editor action: Open any author page's Author box (Shift+A) and add a job title.
Journalist tip: Worth doing once for your own byline — it's public the moment you save it. Check with your editor first.

THIS MONTH'S TIP
Fix a photo's alt text once, everywhere it's reused Labrador AI already writes alt text, a caption and tags the moment you upload an image — click the wand icon to generate or refresh them. When you need to correct that text later, look for the new Edit alt text button on the image wherever it appears — in any article, gallery or front page. Click it, fix the text in the Caption Editor once, and every other place reusing that same photo updates with it. No more re-editing a wire photo's alt text in every article it turns up in.
