“Labrador's AI feature has given us greater reach”
Ålandstidningen is seeing real impact from Labrador CMS' AI tools.
Editor-in-chief and publisher Daniel Dahlén highlights the AI feature for Search Engine Optimization in Labrador as particularly valuable for Ålandstidningen. He says it has helped the paper expand its reach.
In Labrador CMS, users can access AI assistance throughout the system. The tools are especially helpful for generating suggestions for SEO and social media titles and descriptions, but they can also propose relevant tags, image captions, article summaries, and much more.
The AI’s tone of voice and output can be tailored to the newspaper’s style within the CMS admin section. Read more about AI in Labrador here:
Ålandstidningen, which has been a central institution since 1891, covers all of Åland—an archipelago in the Baltic Sea located between Sweden and Finland. The region has around 30,000 inhabitants, and the news organization is based in the centre of Mariehamn.
Dahlén is satisfied with the newspaper's transition to Labrador in the spring of 2025.
“We have achieved better workflow in the newsroom as more tasks can be handled in one place,” he says.
Ålandstidningen publishes a print edition six days a week, but wanted a more ambitious digital effort.
“The system has facilitated our transition toward a digital-first approach,” Dahlén says.
